1. Is it possible to install a canopy on the façade without support posts (cantilevered)?
Yes, this is one of our most popular configurations. A cantilevered canopy is anchored directly into the wall above the entrance. This requires a suitable substrate (concrete lintel or load-bearing brick). Our engineers verify the structural integrity and anchoring method, including through insulation, before installation.
2. Does the entrance canopy look the same as my Misteral Carport?
Yes. This is a key advantage of the Misteral system. We use the same structural profiles, colors (RAL), and details as for carports and pergolas. Your home will have a unified, premium appearance.
3. Can the canopy withstand snow without posts?
Absolutely. Cantilevered canopies are structurally calculated for snow loads. We use strong support profiles and professional anchors (Hilti) to ensure safety. For very large canopy dimensions, we recommend post-supported installation.
4. Does the canopy have water drainage?
Yes. No one wants water dripping at the entrance. All our entrance canopies feature integrated drainage. Water is collected in a hidden gutter and either routed through the post to the ground (post-supported version) or directed away from the entrance via a side outlet (cantilevered version).
5. Why is a riveted construction better than a bolted one?
Riveting allows “joint elasticity.” With extreme temperature variations (summer/winter), materials expand. Riveted joints absorb these forces without damage, while bolts may loosen or cause cracks. This ensures a longer service life.
6. Can lighting be integrated into the canopy?
Yes. LED spotlights or LED strips can be aesthetically integrated into the underside of the canopy. Wiring is concealed within the structure, and lights can be connected to your motion sensor or home switch.
