Misteral WOOD Carport: Strength, Protection and Natural Luxury

Misteral WOOD Carport sets a new standard in vehicle protection. By combining the robustness of industrial roofing with the exceptional strength of glued laminated timber, it creates a structure that is not only functional but also highly aesthetic, ideal for properties with a pronounced natural look (e.g., Alpine style, wooden or modular houses).

Construction with Noble Glued Laminated Timber

The structure is based on the superior stability of glued laminated timber, providing the necessary load-bearing capacity for heavy roofing and snow loads.

Choice of Noble Timber:

For a robust and dimensionally stable construction, we use glued laminated timber of two noble types, emphasizing the natural luxury of the carport:

  • Larch Glued Laminated Timber: Naturally resistant to weather and moisture, ideal for long-term outdoor use.
  • Oak Glued Laminated Timber: A symbol of strength and prestige, offering exceptional hardness, stability, and long service life.

Wind Resistance:

Despite its organic material, the carport is engineered for exceptional wind resistance up to 200 km/h, ensuring maximum safety for your vehicle.

Design Consistency:

The Misteral WOOD Carport maintains the same aesthetic design as Misteral WOOD bioclimatic pergolas, allowing perfect visual harmony with your terrace or garden.

All-Year Roofing: Protection Against Hail, Snow and UV Rays

The carport is ideal for all snowy and rainy areas, offering superior solutions for permanent vehicle protection.

Glass Solutions:

Tempered or tempered safety glass (various thicknesses and colors) provides light and reliable protection against hail and UV rays.

Solid Roofing Panels:

Use of aluminum panels or insulating panels ensures complete shading and thermal insulation, preventing overheating of the vehicle interior.

Hidden Drainage and Flexibility

Hidden Drainage:

Complete waterproofing is ensured with innovative, hidden aluminum profiles discreetly integrated into the wooden structure. These profiles allow efficient rainwater drainage through the posts.

Hybrid Option:

A unique advantage is the ability to combine part of the carport with part of a bioclimatic pergola into a single, visually harmonious structure made of glued laminated timber.

Colors and Warranty:

For aluminum elements (fittings, gutters), we offer a choice of colors according to the RAL color chart and up to 25 years warranty on color durability.

Professional Installation

To ensure flawless setup and long-term functionality, installation is carried out by our own experienced assembly teams.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

1. Is a wooden carport as durable as a metal one?
Yes, if properly designed. Using laminated wood (BSH) ensures structural strength comparable to metal. A key advantage of the Misteral WOOD system is the integrated aluminum drainage system. Since water does not flow over the wood or accumulate in joints, the structure’s lifespan is exceptionally long.

2. What is the difference between Larch and Oak for a carport?

  • Larch: Excellent for outdoor conditions due to its high natural resin content, which provides protection. It is more affordable and has a characteristic reddish-yellow tone (if not oiled).

  • Oak: Harder, heavier, and considered the most noble European wood. It has a distinctive texture and color, making it the choice for those seeking premium prestige.

3. Does a glass roof protect the car from hail?
Yes. We use only laminated tempered safety glass (VSG/ESG). This glass is tested for hail impacts and can withstand heavy snow loads. In the event of extreme breakage, the glass remains in one piece (on the interlayer foil) and does not damage the vehicle.

4. Do insulating panels really help in summer?
Absolutely. This is one of the main advantages of panel roofing. Panels act as a shield that blocks sunlight. The temperature difference inside a car parked under an insulated roof versus a glass or polycarbonate roof is significant.

5. What maintenance does the wood require?
Aluminum parts (roof, gutters) require no maintenance. The wooden part is natural material:

  • To maintain the original wood color, regular oiling is recommended (once a year or every two years).

  • If you prefer the natural gray patina that develops over time (especially in larch), maintenance is practically unnecessary.

6. Can I enclose the carport later with walls?
Yes. The robust wooden structure allows installation of fillers between the columns. You can add wooden brise-soleil, glass walls, or ZIP blinds, transforming it into an enclosed garage.
