Professional Mounting of Misteral Pergolas to Building FacadesAttaching a bioclimatic pergola to a building is not just a matter of installation—it involves structural integrity and safety. Pergolas bear significant loads (weight of the structure, snow, wind gusts), making the connection between the wall and pergola a critical point where Misteral allows no compromise.
We use tested engineering solutions and top-quality materials to ensure long-lasting stability without damaging the facade or creating thermal bridges. The procedure is adapted according to the construction phase of your building.
1. Installation on Completed Buildings (Finished Facade) This is the most common scenario for terrace renovations. The process is designed to minimize impact on the facade while creating an exceptionally strong connection.
Mounting the support profile: A dedicated aluminum structural profile is first mounted on the wall. This serves as the "backbone" that carries the weight of the pergola and evenly transfers it to the wall. Waterproof sealing of the connection: To prevent water from seeping between the facade and the pergola (and leaving stains on the facade), we install a special aluminum sealing profile. This profile is tailored to the building’s specifications and ensures water flows from the facade over the pergola into the gutter, keeping the connection dry.
Anchoring technology (Hilti + Inox): We do not use ordinary screws for mounting. Holes are drilled into the wall, into which Inox threaded rods are inserted and chemically bonded with professional Hilti two-component adhesive.
Why Hilti adhesive? Chemical anchoring bonds with the wall material (brick, concrete) at a molecular level, providing far greater load capacity than traditional anchors and preventing moisture ingress into the drilled hole.
2. Installation During Construction (Pre-Facade) If the pergola is planned before the building receives its final exterior, we can perform an "invisible" pre-installation.
Custom sub-facade brackets: Steel brackets are mounted on the building’s load-bearing structure (brick, concrete), custom-made precisely for your project. No thermal bridges: The brackets are then covered with insulation and the final facade layer. Only the attachment points for the pergola remain visible from the exterior. Advantage: This method allows the cleanest appearance and superior structural load-bearing capacity, as the lever is anchored directly into the building’s load-bearing structure.
Why Misteral Installation is a Safe Investment
Certified materials: Using Hilti anchoring technology and Inox elements ensures that the connection will not fail even after decades. Prevention of water ingress: Precise sealing protects your facade from algae and mold at the pergola connection. Professional execution: Our teams are trained to work with various wall types (brick, aerated concrete, concrete, prefabricated walls), ensuring your pergola remains safe in all weather conditions. Frequently Asked Questions About Installation
I have a penthouse terrace with waterproofing. Can it be installed without drilling? For such cases, we use a certified method with a bonded ALU plate. The plate is fixed to the existing surface with special industrial adhesives, and the post is then attached to the plate. The waterproofing remains 100% intact. Will screws be visible on the posts? All posts (for pergolas and carports) are mounted using a hidden Inox console inside the post. The exterior remains completely clean, without visible flanges or screws.
How is the pergola attached to an insulated facade? We use professional Hilti chemical anchors and Inox threaded rods that extend through the insulation deep into the load-bearing wall. Special spacers prevent damage to the facade and the creation of thermal bridges. Where does water from the pergola drain? Drainage is invisible. Water flows from the louvers into the gutters, then through a pipe hidden inside the post directly to the ground drain or soakaway. No visible pipes around the posts.
